Background videos are included in your plan; background traffic counts toward your overall traffic limit.

- Building a clip up to 60 seconds long is free. Longer clips are billed at the encoding price per minute of output, for both the main file and the phone file. A segment can be up to 600 seconds.
- Storage and traffic for backgrounds count toward your plan's overall limits.
How much traffic
Each visitor downloads the whole clip once; after that it loops from the browser's memory. You pay for the traffic.
The background's Overview has a calculator: the size per desktop visitor and per phone visitor, and the monthly traffic for a given number of visitors per day. Example: an 18-second clip in 720p is about 622 KB per desktop visitor and 313 KB per phone visitor; at 1,000 visitors a day that is about 18.7 GB a month.
How to reduce traffic
Use a shorter segment and 720p quality, and keep the phone file. A well-chosen 10–20 second segment is usually enough.
