Use casesVideo hosting for online courses

Course videos,in order and under one key.

Put your lessons into a playlist with the Course layout: a lesson list next to the player, notes and slides under each lesson, one password or private link for the whole course — and analytics that show where students drop off.

On the course page

Everything for the lesson, next to the player.

01 / ONE ACCESS

One key for the course

In “Playlist access” mode, one password or private link opens every lesson of the course at once.

02 / INSIDE ONLY

Lessons stay in the course

With the “Playlist only” policy, a lesson has no page or embed of its own — it can be watched only inside the course.

03 / OUTLINE

A course outline

Lessons with thumbnails and durations next to the player. Students mark lessons as done and see their progress, saved in their browser.

04 / MATERIALS

Files under the player

Notes, slides, spreadsheets and archives — pdf, doc, xls, ppt, zip, csv, txt. Up to 30 files per lesson on Pro and Business.

05 / CHAPTERS

Chapters inside a lesson

Split a long lesson into topics; their titles show on the player’s timeline and students jump straight to them.

06 / ANALYTICS

Where students drop off

Plays, watch time and share watched for every lesson, plus a retention curve and a completion funnel for each video.

On your platform

Your school, your sign-in, our player.

Open the course with a password on its dodocast page, or embed it in your own site or learning platform.

  • Allow the player only on your domains — up to 50, including *.example.com.
  • Signed links for your own player: your server signs the stream link with your key, valid for up to 24 hours. On Pro and Business.
  • For a course, sign the playlist code once — the token opens that course’s lessons. The player SDK does the signing in Node.js.
  • A watermark with your school’s logo or name is burned into every rendition.

Selling access is up to you. dodocast doesn’t take payments from students. It shows the course to whoever you gave the password, the private link or a signed token.

How to set it up

Three steps in the console.

01

Upload the lessons

Upload the videos to a project and set the lessons’ access to “Playlist only”.

02

Build the course

Create a playlist, add lessons in order, choose the Course layout and “Playlist access” mode.

03

Hand out access

Set the course password or private link, or embed it on your site. Turn on “Published”.

Good to know

What we do — and what your platform does.

dodocast hosts, protects and plays the course videos. Enrollment, payments and grading stay on your side.

  • No paywall, subscriptions or pay-per-view for students.
  • No quizzes, certificates or ready-made LMS integrations — embed the player instead.
  • Encryption protects against casual downloading; it isn’t DRM.
Can students download the lessons?

Not by simply saving the segments: you can encrypt the course with AES-128 or SAMPLE-AES and burn in a watermark. Screen recording can’t be prevented — the watermark stays in every frame.

Does progress follow a student to another device?

Lesson marks and progress are saved in the student’s browser, so they stay on that device.

Can I embed the course in my learning platform?

Yes. Use the course embed code and allow only your platform’s domains, or play signed links in your own player.

Which plan do I need?

Course pages work on every plan. Lesson materials, direct links and signed links are on Pro and Business.
