SolutionsHosting & playerMultilingual video
One video.Every language.
Upload a file with several audio tracks and subtitles — dodocast keeps them in HLS and the viewer picks the language in the player. A 24/7 channel can promise viewers its languages and make sure the promise holds.
The player menu, built from your tracks.
Tracks from the source
Audio and subtitles are extracted from the uploaded file — mkv, mov or mp4 with several tracks.
Name and language
The track name shows in the player menu, the language is picked from a list, and there’s an extra language label.
Accessibility flags
Forced subtitles, subtitles for the hard of hearing (SDH) and audio description for blind viewers.
Default track
Plays when the viewer hasn’t chosen another. Matching the system language still works.
Only what you need in the stream
Turn individual tracks or a whole type on and off — for example, drop all subtitles from the stream.
Channel languages
A 24/7 channel declares which audio and subtitle languages it guarantees to viewers.
A language promise, enforced.
Videos with different sets of tracks end up in one channel. The channel declares its languages in the player, and the mode decides what happens to a video without the right track.
No promise
No languages declared: each video plays its own default track.
Soft
Promised languages play where they exist; otherwise the default track plays.
Strict
A video without tracks in every declared language won’t get into the channel.
Channel subtitles. Tracks exist in every chosen language; where a video has no translation, the track stays empty. The console shows how many videos lack each language.
Three steps in the console.
Prepare the source
An mkv, mov or mp4 with all audio tracks and subtitles.
Label the tracks
The Tracks tab: name, language and flags for the player menu.
Choose what’s in the stream
Turn on the tracks you need — the player shows them to viewers.
Tracks come from the source file. Uploading a separate .srt or audio file isn’t possible yet — mux all tracks into an mkv or mov before uploading.
Your channel is one upload away.
