Chapters, covers,materials.

Split a long video into chapters, pick a cover from the exact frame and attach notes, slides or a spreadsheet — viewers download them from the page.

Chapters

A long video, in chapters.

Chapters split the player’s timeline into named parts: viewers see the structure at once and jump to the topic they need.

  • A timecode and a title — or the “at current frame” button right in the console player.
  • The console flags a bad format, a repeated time, anything past the end and an empty title.
  • Chapters are served as a WebVTT file that external players understand too. Showing them in the dodocast player is one switch.
Cover

The exact frame, not a random still.

Scrub to the moment you want, step frame by frame with the arrows and set the frame as the cover. Or upload your own image — it’s fitted to the cover format.

  • Each step is one frame of the source video.
  • Your own image — JPG or PNG up to 10 MB.
  • The cover is the player poster and the card image. A playlist uses its first video’s cover.
Materials

Files for the video, right on the page.

Notes, slides, a spreadsheet or an archive of source files — viewers download them under the player, no separate mailing needed.

  • Several files at a time; order, names and visibility are managed in the console.
  • The server checks not just the extension but the file’s contents.
  • Materials count towards storage. Not available on Starter; up to 30 per video on Pro and Business.
How to set it up

Three steps in the console.

01

The Chapters tab: add timecodes and titles, turn on showing them in the player.

02

Cover

The Cover tab: a frame from the video or your own image.

03

Materials

The Materials tab: upload the files and turn on showing them to viewers.
